About Chequamegon Bay Boats

Dock

During the day, a Park Service Ranger is often on-site offering tours of the Raspberry Island Lighthouse. The lighthouse grounds are beautifully maintained, with gardens and a scenic trail leading down to the beach. The dock is large and well-built, but it's fully exposed to west winds and the shoreline is rocky with scattered boulders. I recommend only attempting to dock when the island is in the lee or conditions are calm—or if you're highly experienced. Be especially cautious of a well-known rock to the east-southeast that has claimed more than a few propellers in low-water years. As with all docks, always approach perpendicular to the shoreline, not parallel.

Raspberry Island Lighthouse

Perched on the western tip of Raspberry Island, this beautifully restored lighthouse is known as the “Showplace of the Apostle Islands.” Surrounded by manicured gardens and native forest, the site offers guided tours during the summer that bring to life the daily routines of 19th-century lighthouse keepers. Raspberry Island itself is one of the most accessible and picturesque islands in the Apostles, featuring a peaceful beach trail, open meadows, and a unique blend of natural beauty and human history.
